1978-1979 Ford Bronco 351M, 400, (460) C6, 4 X 4 Transmission Kickdown Rod
This kickdown rod was recently verified by a customer to fit the above description like a glove. Like all our kickdown rods, it is made of elegant stainless steel with permanently installed plastic bushings in each end. Select YES for a custom rod if you have an aftermarket high rise intake manifold installed or a carb spacer 1” or greater. There is a $25 surcharge for custom rods.
NOTE: Broncos with the 460 engine already have the surcharge added.
If you need a custom rod or a rod for a 460 engine, please note WHAT makes it custom so I will know how to build the rod.
NOTE: YOUR CARBURETOR MUST HAVE A KICKDOWN LEVER INSTALLED IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO USE THIS KICKDOWN ROD.
EDELBROCK CARBS REQUIRE THEIR PART # 1483, FORD KICKDOWN ROD ADAPTER.
All setups with an Edelbrock carb will require a custom rod be built due to their kickdown design. Please tell us if you have one installed.
NOTE: If you are using a Holley 4V carburetor and do not have the kickdown rod return spring kit that is needed, go to this link to pick up the spring kit.
